Located right on Hwy 101 in the heart of Prunedale, California, the ranch is easy to find. Visitors to the ranch all remark that they drive by the ranch each day and "just had to stop by and find out what those cute little creatures were." With 25 huacayas and suris peacefully grazing in the pasture in full view of the highway, it is no wonder that the ranch has new visitors each week. In fact most of the alpacas at the ranch are owned by other alpaca breeders who are realizing the benefits of alpaca ownership, and are agisitng their animals with the Rabe's while they build their own herds.

From North (San Francisco Bay Area): Drive south on hwy 101, after you see the off ramp to 156 to the Monterey Peninsula be ready to take the next left across the freeway on to Pesante Canyon Road. You will see a school on your right. Find a good place to make a u-turn to get back on 101 going north. Go north on 101 and turn immediately after you see the call box on the right side (~1/4 mile). If you miss the turn, go up to the entrance to 156, before the Valero gas station, go up and over 101. At the light turn right onto the on-ramp to 101 south and try again.

From South (Salinas): Drive about 8 miles north of central Salinas on hwy 101, 6/10 of a mile after Pesante Canyon Road turn immediately after you see the call box on the right side (~1/4 mile). If you miss the turn, go up to the entrance to 156, before the Valero gas station, go up and over 101. At the light turn right onto the on-ramp to 101 south and try again.

From West (Monterey Bay): Go east on 156 then go south on hwy 101. Take the first left across the freeway on to Pesante Canyon Road. You will see a school on your right.
